This is a beautiful example of this amazing Brazilian craft. "Bonecas" are figurines made in clay by hand. They developed from decorated water jars (hence the shape) and now are an art form that has found it's highest level of development in the remote, barren Jequitinonha Valley.  If you buy this - I'll probably drive it to you.
