These rugs are woven on basic looms in Mexico's Oaxaca state - home of the Zapotec people. They are the original and genuine rug of this type - many of the patterns are copied for mass-produced rugs and blankets. Consider these rugs works of art as well as floor coverings. We work with a few families who produce these classic and beautiful rugs. The rugs are made from local wool and all dyes are natural - such as conchineal and indigo.
